Four states in 60 minutes
We got on the road just after 9 after a delicious breakfast at the Econo Lodge. We headed north on I-81 and then got off onto historic Route 11, also known as the Lee Highway (named after Brenda? Spike? Bruce??) where we found New Market VA and the fabulous Southern Kitchen for lunch. Peanut Soup and Virginia ham!
Then after a while we passed through bits of West Virginia and Maryland and into Pennsylvania in just a matter of minutes. We got on the PA Turnpike and found just a little traffic on the way to the historic sister cities of Horsham and Hatboro PA.
We picked up cousin CB for dinner at fabulous Otto's HausBrau. Everybody got German food (German pot roast, goulash, chicken schnitzel, schweinzenpfepper) except CB but he liked his crab cakes. Great German dark beer on tap!
We returned to the fabulous Days Inn for a good night's rest before our day of touring Philadelphia tomorrow. See you then!
